Builder / Engineer / Entrepreneur

Wenfeng

I build software products from zero to one.

Over the years, I have worked across full-stack engineering, mobile development, AI, product design, growth, and monetization, building products used by millions of people and exploring new ways to turn emerging technologies into real businesses.

About

Engineering was the beginning. Building the whole thing is the work.

I am a software engineer, product builder, and entrepreneur. I started from engineering and gradually expanded into almost every part of building a technology product - from writing the first line of code to designing the product, acquiring users, optimizing conversion, and figuring out how to make the business work.

I have built products across iOS, Android, Web, and AI, and have experience taking products from an idea to a launched product with real users. At different stages of my career, I have worked on everything from consumer applications to AI-powered tools and SaaS products.

I have also been involved in venture capital and deal sourcing, which gave me another perspective on technology businesses: not just how products are built, but why some products become businesses while others do not. Today, I spend most of my time building and experimenting.

Current focus

AI x Consumer Software x Growth

AI-native productsProducts that only make sense now.
Consumer AIComplex models, simple experiences.
Creative toolsImage, video, audio, and new workflows.
Global productsInternational from day one.
Product growthSEO, GEO, ASO, and distribution.

Selected work

Products built around real problems, real users, and real distribution.

01 / Creator workflow

Teleprompter for the app you already use.

FLOATING SCRIPT

Keep your words close. Keep your eyes on the lens.

ROOM E8Z80P   PLAY
AIPrompteriOS app

A teleprompter built for creators.

I built a mobile teleprompter around a simple problem: how can people read a script while recording a video without constantly switching between apps?

The floating teleprompter keeps the script visible while users record, present, livestream, or work in another application. The product has been distributed globally through the App Store.

  • Floating teleprompter
  • Script import
  • Remote control
  • Apple Watch
  • Video recording
  • Multi-language

02 / AI creative platform

Find a direction. Then make it real.

ImageStyleAI platform

AI-powered visual creation.

ImageStyle makes generative image and video creation easier by focusing on the creative outcome instead of forcing users to understand individual models, parameters, and technical workflows.

The platform explores prompts, reference images, multiple AI models, generation history, and credit-based usage in one product experience.

  • Image generation
  • Image editing
  • Video generation
  • Reference images
  • Prompt collections
  • Multiple models

What I build

The product is the intersection.

AI Products

I build around the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem, especially where better models create entirely new product possibilities.

  • Generative AI
  • Image and video generation
  • Large language models
  • Multimodal AI
  • Speech and audio AI
  • AI-native workflows

Consumer Apps

I care about the complete lifecycle of a consumer product, from the first interaction to retention and monetization.

  • iOS and Android
  • Creator tools
  • Productivity apps
  • Subscription products
  • International App Store distribution

Product Growth

Engineering is only one part of the equation. I enjoy the intersection between technology and distribution.

  • ASO, SEO, and GEO
  • Organic and paid acquisition
  • Conversion optimization
  • Subscription monetization
  • Product-led growth

Engineering

From mobile interfaces to models and infrastructure.

Mobile

Complex UI, video and audio processing, speech recognition, real-time interaction, background tasks, in-app purchases, and subscription systems.

iOS / Swift / SwiftUI / UIKit
Android / App Store distribution

Web

I enjoy building complete systems rather than focusing on only one layer of the stack.

Frontend / Backend / APIs
Databases / Cloud infrastructure

AI

I care about making AI capabilities useful inside real products, not simply demonstrating the underlying model.

Whisper / FLUX / Gemini / Veo
Kling / Seedance / Grok / LLM APIs

From code to product

Should this exist? Who wants it? Why would they pay?

One of the biggest changes in my career has been the way I think about software. Early on, the question was: how do I build this?

Now I also ask: should this exist, who actually wants it, how do we reach them, and can it become a sustainable business?

I do not see engineering, product, and growth as separate disciplines. For a small team, they are often the same problem.

The way I build

Short loops beat long plans.

01

Find the problem

Start with a problem rather than a technology. AI makes it easy to build things, which makes choosing what not to build increasingly important.

02

Build the smallest useful version

Launch quickly rather than spending months building something nobody has used. The first version should answer one question: do people actually want this?

03

Put it in front of real users

Real users are better than internal opinions. Launch, measure, listen, and repeat.

04

Find distribution

A great product without distribution is often invisible. I think about SEO, ASO, GEO, content, acquisition, and partnerships alongside engineering.

05

Iterate

The first version is rarely the final product. Keep the loop moving and let evidence change the plan.

Build → Launch → Measure → Learn → Iterate

AI changes the game

Building software is getting cheaper. Good judgment is not.

The cost of creating software is falling, the speed of iteration is increasing, and the number of possible products is exploding. Simply being able to build software is becoming less differentiated.

Taste. Distribution. Product judgment. Speed.
The ability to identify problems worth solving.

That is what I am interested in: making useful products at the moment when technology makes them possible.

Beyond building

Execution and markets are two views of the same question.

Through work related to venture capital and deal sourcing, I have had the opportunity to look at technology companies from another angle - evaluating products, markets, founders, and business models. Building gives me an understanding of execution. Investing gives me an understanding of markets. I enjoy having both perspectives.

A few things I believe

Ship, then let reality teach you.

What I am looking for

Ambitious people working on unusual ideas.

I am interested in meeting founders, engineers, AI researchers, product designers, growth builders, investors, indie hackers, and people exploring products with global potential.

Let's build something

Interesting problems welcome.

I like interesting problems, ambitious people, and ideas that seem slightly crazy at first. If you are working on something interesting, reach out.
